Communication Center, Franklin Police Department

The Franklin Police Department's Communication Center is responsible for answering all 911-emergency calls and non-emergency calls that come into the department.  Once receiving these calls they dispatch the appropriate Police/Fire/EMS personnel to the situation.  They monitor all the radio transmissions, and keep the responding units updated with necessary information for their safety and welfare, along with updating the CAD (computer aided dispatch) as to where each unit is and what they are doing at any given time. They are proficient with a variety of computer applications and record management systems. Dispatchers assist citizens in a time of crisis or if they just have a simple question to ask.

Dispatchers provide the voice of reassurance and the compassion of listening.
