The Franklin Fire Department trains CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Basic, Advanced, and Pediatric courses under the American Heart Association.
Bystander CPR is a valuable public resource. A resource that can be taught to all. When immediate bystander CPR is initiated prior to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrival, CPR can double or triple chances of survival. Remember, cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, often near a loved one.
The Franklin Fire Department also offers trained classes in Stop the Bleed. Stop the Bleed teaches how to recognize a major bleed and the techniques and strategies of ways to save lives if people nearby are severely bleeding and need help.
Sign up for your class today! A minimum of three (3) people are needed to hold a class. Single inquiries will be formulated into groups of three (3). Payment by invoice, cash, or check at time of class for card fees.
Types of classes offered:
Heartsaver CPR AED Course: For anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to learn CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course: For anyone with limited or no medical training who needs first aid, CPR, and AED training to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.
Family & Friends CPR Course: Ideal for anyone who wants to be prepared to save a life, this program teaches Hand-OnlyTM CPR, child and infant CPR with breaths, AED use, and choking relief.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Course: BLS Course for healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, performing CPR, choking relief, using an AED, and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Course: ACLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Course: A series of simulated pediatric emergencies help teach a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.
Stop the Bleed Course: This free course is for anyone wanting to gain the knowledge to recognize life-threatening bleeding emergencies and the many ways to make a difference in stopping and controlling a major bleed effectively and appropriately.
