The Franklin Police Department provides free security surveys to Franklin residents. The surveys are conducted by Officers of the Franklin Police Department, who have received specialized training in crime prevention/ residential security.
As part of the survey, officers will examine the physical security of the home including: locks, doors, windows, lighting, and the landscaping surrounding the house. The survey will usually take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour. After the survey is complete, the resident will receive a brief report with the results of the survey along with any suggestions to improve the security of the home. Most often the suggestions provided in the report are no cost or low cost items. The survey recommendations, if implemented, should substantially reduce a criminal's opportunity, but are not to be construed as a guarantee that a crime will not occur on the premise.
If you are interested in a security survey of your home, download a self assessing Home Security Checklist or, for a more comprehensive security survey, contact Police Officer Gary Wallace at the Franklin Police Department at 414-858-2622 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. If Sergeant Fadness is not available, leave a voice mail and he will get back to you to schedule an appointment. Security surveys can be scheduled for weekdays or weekends during daylight hours.
